The difficulty with this app has, from the beginning, been that it is slower to load than the built-in favourites in the phone. When you want to make a phone call, you want to make a phone call; so you do whatever is fastest. Its speed has improved, but not enough: it is still slower to load than the built-in phone favourites. And to slow things down more, inexplicably, after opening the app you have to tap twice to phone: once on the photo, and then again on the number when it shows up in a dialogue box with a cancel option! What is the point of a text box spelling out the number and asking if you want to cancel? The concept is nice but it is not practical to use. (translate)

Great application. A lot of thought and easy to use B U T for only sixteen speed dials. Not worth the effort. I need at least double or triple that amount of speed dials. If my other friends see that they are not on my speed dial then they will think that I don't like them as much as the ones who are on there. An up and down scrolling window would be good. Also why don't you make it such that the speed dials pop up as the default screen when the iPhone device is turned on? This would truly be speed dial. Only one tap. (translate)

For those of us that like picture speed dials this is a great app. Tapping twice on the photo to allow the option to SMS or email the contact is a brilliant feature. Just one suggestion to the developer, please allow more screens so we can add more contacts for speed dial. Just like our iPhone we can add multipe app's and slide beween screens! (translate)

Does what it says however it has the same problem that all the similar apps have which is an aproximately 4-5 second delay when you start the app rendering this type of app useless if speed is what you're after. Also, instead of making the pictures smaller to fit more favourites on the page (nice idea), there should be an OPTION to add more pages when the pics start getting to small for individual requirements. Fix these 2 things and it's a 5 star app. Without getting rid of the delay at the start it's useless (to me) and I took it off my phone. (translate)

@developers: please allow more pages for contacts with big pitures. This would be a huge differentiator to other apps. (translate)

This app is exactly what I was looking for. It provides fast access to favorite contacts by showing their pictures, a feature that iPhone does not have by default. The creator of this app did not try to add unnecessary features that only slows down or complicates the app. Keeping it simple is key!It boots quickly and it works perfectly. It is also really nice that is has a rearrange option. The app is simple to use and does what it is supposed to do.I only have one criticism: The single-tap on contact doesn’t directly call the contact. Instead it shows a button which you have to press to call. This makes the separate double-tapping feature (which shows additional texting and e-mailing) unnecessary. If I could program, I would eliminate the “direct-call” button and use the single-tap to show the buttons for Calling, texting and e-mailing.With that said, this is a great app, €1.59 well spent. I hope it will be updated to my liking.A tip for marketing: Try using photos that are more appealing on the example screenshots. Call me vain and harsh, but I almost didn’t buy it because of the photos, before I realized it obviously doesn’t come with the pictures. I'm sorry if this sounded offensive, just trying to help :) (translate)

So glad I found this. Have been using an app that only calls when I tap on their button and for me that's frustrating because I text so much more. This app let's me text more quickly. Easy to use partly because it's logical but also because of the well written tutorial. Flexible and easily edited interface is a joy to use. Only one thing could improve it for me would be ability to have more screens allowing more than sixteen favourites. Functional and well thought out contacts app. Many thanks. (translate)

Lovely designed app with lots if options to suit your needs. Much more useful than the apps where a click on an app dials someone (I've woken up friends in the middle of the night more than once by accidentially hitting the wrong app button). Like that the pics are big when few contacts. Feature wish: SMS badge directly on picture. Example: One pic with mobile badge to call person, another pic with SMS badge to SMS person. Saves a click. ;-) (translate)

This is a great looking app that does a really good job at handling favorites. Why 2 stars then? I find that if I double click a contact (which I have set to give the options pop up - sms/dial/email) that quite frequently the options pop up flies off the side of the screen. It's really annoying as it means I have to shut the app down and start again. Hopefully this will be fixed in subsequent versions. I'm running OS3.0 on an iPhone 3GS by the way. (translate)

but in my mind vital thing this would be THE best favorites/speed dialing app in the store .... Namely only having 1 page! When I bought the app I thought such a slick program would have it. I have been using the Friends app up to now which is free but not as polished as this one, it has 2 features which I think if this app included on a future up date would blow all the others out of the water. 1= The ability to scroll through pages of contacts by swiping across the screen as you do with your other apps. 2= The ability to edit the photos displayed with others in your photo app so you can have separate icons for people at the same place that you ring often. Add these minor updates and you can justify the price. In comparison with other less refined but more functionally rich and free apps on the store! This is the first review Ive ever been bothered to write but see it as great promise, so I'm not being harsh with three stars, just hopeful.... Keep up the good work! (translate)

by brywebster on 2008-11-05 (Version 1.0.2)
really nice app, very helpful and easy to use! There is one more thing which is missing in my opinion - if you wanna call not the default number for the contact but its other number like home, work, etc, you have to add all these numbers in advance - which is terrible when you have 100 or even just 50 of them... it would be much nicer if the "Options" screen for the contact will have one more button "Other" (with the phone icon for example) in addition to the Phone, Text and Email buttons - when you choose this option, it would display the list of all numbers from the contact so you can call a number with one touch (and do not have to have multiple icons for the same contact on the main page)... Do you think you can support it for the next version? Again, the app is great, thank you! -Alex (translate)

Have tried all of the speed-dialing apps, and - while Faces and myFavourites have some nice features - this is definitely the best for my needs. Single-tap brings up the default action, a double-tap quickly gives the alternatives. Fast loading, flexible and attractive enough, with the ability to access all available means of communication (including SMS) off a single icon, in a way that's swift and non-cumbersome. App icon's a *tiny* bit pedestrian, but otherwise this is pretty much perfect... ;-) (translate)

This was great when I first bought it, but performance since OS4 upgrade is unacceptable. With the new law in WA banning holding and talking on the phone while driving, a speed dialing app is a must! Used to be I'd hit two buttons and connect pretty quickly via my Bluetooth car stereo. Now it takes MUCH too long for it to load. Another thing: I had saved custom photos to each number, zooming in on the faces to make them big so I could see who was calling at arm's length. Since the upgrade, Favorites no longer allows that - the photos I used now show 2 or 3 people in them, which is useless. This used to be my favorite, but I'm looking for a replacement. (translate)

Since you can double-click the Home button to access Favorites and then make a call with one click, that certainly beats the 3 clicks to load this app, click on a contact, and then confirm you want to make the call. Still cool, especially when you turn off Names and when you figure out how to assign badges so you can call a Home, Cell, or Work number. Still, it serves no real use compared to the iPhone Favorites unless you just love pressing on your friends' mugs. (translate)

Please, please, please bring back the old icon graphic! This app works so well that it has a home on the dock, but not when it's so ugly now. (translate)

I purchased this app primarily for the single tap calling feature. SMS and email work great but calling a contact takes two taps (not including the tap to launch the app). Tap once to select the contact to call then a pop up comes up with an option to cancel or call, reqiuring a second tap on the call button. Useing the iphone's built in favorites takes less taps than this app. How can I get a refund? (translate)

I agree that the two touch phone drops this app out of my favs list. However, as noted in their support forum this is an OS 3.0 bug (an apple issue). Let's hope apple fixes it and soon. (translate)

This WAS one of my favorite apps...until someone decided to do away with one-tap calling. Brilliantly stupid decision. Still decent but has lost it's uniqueness. (translate)
by Keithshyne on 2009-07-06 (Version 1.0.9)
Was great, then the one tap was taken away by the upgrade. Please restore the one tap to the picture for calling, otherwise this app is useless. (translate)

Was a great app. Upgrade made it awful. Was my favorite until "upgrade". (translate)
by Stevie U on 2009-06-23 (Version 1.0.8)
It was great till the upgrade. Now when I tap the picture, I get a another opening that asks whether I want to call whatever number shows up. Can this be fixed? (translate)
by sml7 on 2009-06-23 (Version 1.0.8)
I would like it to do the action of calling with one tap--now I tap and it still asks me if I want to call, even though I have this set as default! Make it truly ONE tap please. (translate)

One star till the pop up request is fixed with the os 3.0 update. Very annoying. (translate)

I use it every day. More screens should be fine. (translate)

Hey guys the SMS is all messed upi tap SMS and it enters all kinds of weird symbols and numbers. Awesome idea though and I like the interface. Please fix ASAP (translate)

The other positive reviews cover why this app is the leader in this category. Will add the 5th star when multiple pages are available. On a very regular / at times daily basis I call twice the number of contacts that can be contained on the one page. Otherwise an app that is used as regularly as email app! (translate)

This app is an excellent, essential replacement for the built-in Phone app's favorites.Favorites is lightning-fast: it starts up typically within one second, which is much faster than most third-party apps and is on par with the Phone app. It's quite flexible, allowing you to choose whether a single tap should automatically call, text, or email the contact. A double-tap will display a lovely Apple-esque panel letting you choose among these. Favorites even lets you switch the behavior of tap and double-tap, which is how I use it (since I text and call about equally often). The care taken with the user experience really shows.Compare this to trying to initiate a text from within Apple's favorites: carefully tap the little blue arrow, flick down to "Text Message", tap, then pick a number. Favorites cuts this down to a single tap if you so choose.Hey, Apple: let us choose a third-party app to launch when the Home button is double-clicked, because I want this excellent app there instead. I can argue that Apple should have included this in their iPhone system software. I can argue that other people have written similar applications -- too many of them -- that you can find in the iTunes Apps Store. But I can also say that this one is beautifully crafted... the author obviously sweated the details of the user interface, and that means a lot to me.4-stars instead of 5 because (a) I'd like to be able to set SMS as priority over phone call for some contacts, and (b) the blue on black text on some screens is hard to read. I understand that it's a "black" app, but there's no need to make everything so dark! (translate)

Prior to the updates this app worked pretty slow. It has since improved the speed which loads this program. With two taps you can several options, e-mail, SMS, work or home phone, very handy at times. Well worth the $ amount for someone who needs to stay in contact with the same individuals. (translate)
by Dennis aka Kolohe on 2008-12-08 (Version 1.0.5)
Works very well, *almost* a perfect speed dialer. The only drawback is that for each entry, it gives only three choices: phone, SMS text, and email. Hopefully an update will allow for multiple phone number entry (work, home) for a single person; right now, I have 3 photos for people who have 3 numbers (work, home, mobile) and more than one email address (work, home), even where the SMS slot is unused. Nevertheless, best speed dial app out there. UPDATE: The above issue has been addressed. I now have no reservations about giving the app 5 stars. (translate)

This app was great if a little slow until for some reason it said that some of my favorites were no longer in phone's contact list. These contacts were in fact still intact. I deleted the "missing" favorites and recreated them in Favorites. They have disappeared again. Too much work! Too bad..... (translate)

Its a cool concept but it takes too long to load.By the time it opens I could have dialed the #. (translate)

Just wish it had a panoramic keybord, and hopefully be able to do spell check and picture attachments. (translate)
by Lasmile on 2008-11-12 (Version 1.0.3)
Would be much more useful if it didn't load so slowly. I only have a few favorites selected, and I could've already been dialing someone via the standard favorites menu in the time it takes to load the contacts' photos in the Favorites window. (translate)
by mannieschumpert on 2008-11-12 (Version 1.0.3)
Since the update, this works great. It was always a good app. but since the update it loads much faster, making it much more useful. (translate)

Outstanding, well-designed application that fits perfectly within the iPhone design aesthetic. Has earned a key spot on my dock after only a day of use. You will want this app if you're frustrated in any small way with the way to make calls on your iPhone. The developer, Matt, is on top his product and is making improvements regularly. Well done! This is a really great app. Works perfectly. Like many others that have reviewed this app, I've moved it to the dock and it's completely replaced the stock "favorites" feature that came with the iPhone. I agree with the other reviews that the next update should include the ability to enter alternate phone numbers such as home and work. Other than that it's a great app and still earns 5 stars in my book. (translate)

This is a very solid little app. I love the functionality that let's you do multiple things (call, SMS, email) from the same button. I use it all the time. (translate)
by TxAdam on 2008-11-08 (Version 1.0.2)
I was initially confused about how to distinguish among multiple numers for the same contact but this is perfectly addressed with the custom labels This is third dialer of this genre that I have tried and it's easily the best. (translate)
by Dhjdhj on 2008-11-06 (Version 1.0.2)
This app does what it should - VERY worth having especially if you have pictures of your contacts stored in your "Contacts" address book. This app makes 2- touch dialing (sms, or email) a reality on the iphone. (translate)

Is there a way that I van add contacts to my home screen. I usually end up calling one of three people so being able to just tap their image from the home screen would be amazing. (translate)
