This was a great app in 2009 but with the arrival of the iPad and iOS4 it has become useless. Colors are inverted in iOS4 and iPad support is non existent. Developer doesn't reply to emails so one can only assume this app is dead. (translate)

I was very excited to get this app. I was like a little kid at the candy shop. I got the App working pretty quickly and the controls are VERY intuitive. Where this App looses it Rating is in the support. I'm computer savvy and followed the online instructions to connect over 3G to a tee. After being unsuccessful I decided to contact ReadPixel and did not get a reply. So after another email I got a reply witch just poited me back to the website. I emailed the same email address 3 other times and was ignored. VERY UNCOOL AND I'M TAKING MY MONEY BACK!! I just saw another App witch looks promising called RemoteJr fingers crossed its not a nightmare to connect. (translate)

The only thing I don't like is that auto log in still ask for your password, kind of defeats the idea of it. So far so good, there is performance issue's that will be over come in the next up dates (No crash's just slow at times). I bought this application to access my mac whilst away from home. For the life of me I couldnt connect via 3G, even with the assistance of customer support. Connectivity via WLAN was great, but I could walk to my mac if I needed information badly enough.Customer support was great in the beginning but now I have been forgotten about. The guys were great and even offered my money back. I really want this app to work. (translate)

I bought this App because I was tired of scrolling, just like the App described and thinking that I can eliminate a couple other Apps that I am using for similar functions. So far I am quite happy with all the features that come with it, especially audio streaming. However, I was not able to eliminate all the other similar Apps on my iPhone because, RemoteTap is not able to let me connect to my computer when it is at "log in window" state like the other App could. That means, I can not just turn on the computer and then start using RemoteTap, I have to go to my computer, log in and then afterwards, use RemoteTap.This is a very inconvenient disadvantage of RemoteTap compare with the other App which allow me to connect to my computer as long as the computer is on. My computer turns on and off everyday automatically, all I need to do is using my iPhone to connect, log in and start working. And in case there is a electricity problem and I am not around, all I have to do is have someone turn the computer on and I am all good again. With RemoteTap, not only I have to have the computer turn on, I have to have it log in to the user account before I can do anything with it. I hope you guys can include this feature in the future update. Meanwhile, I just have to keep the other App to work together with RemoteTap. (translate)

Application pratique et bien conçue. Evidemment, travailler sur un petit écran, ce n'est pas évident, et on peut espérer qu'un jour, l'iPhone puisse sortir ses images (toutes, pas seulement les vidéos et photos, comme actuellement) sur un moniteur externe ou une tv.Mais c'est bluffant de voir son ordinateur à distance sur l'iPhone et de pouvoir agir sur lui ! Was completely on my end. Following a VoIP router failure I re-entered all the settings for RemoteTap EXCEPT the server IP number. Doing that got it to work right away.] [UPDATE: March 19 2010: Count me in on those that are having 3G wake from sleep and connection issues which makes the real point of the app useless. Seems to have died upon Snow Leopard installation and the developer has taken the money and run.] This thing gets me through my evil, archaic VoIP router. That in itself is pure Disney magic. Does Not work on a 3G Network when trying to wake up a Mac. I work in IT. I turned off all log in's and passwords, security, it still fails. I know what a VPN Network is. I'm sure as per their web site instructions that all is configured properly. The Pref Pane reports no errors and claims all is correct. What's worse, is Tech Support doesn't reply, non existence. They advertise that RemoteTap wakes up the Mac (3G), this is just not true. I have free WiFi tools to access my Mac Locally. I bought this App strickly to access my Mac on the 3G network, not for WiFi. No Q&A or telephone number for support. It gets one star only because I can't give it a zero. If you want an exellant free WiFi tool, then Google Telekenesis by Blacktree Co. This false/flaky App with not connect you with your Mac away from your local WiFi network. Keep your money and learn how to turn on the built in VPN Server in your Mac, this is what I'm going to have too do. No software is perfect ... But I hate being "mislead". (translate)

Judging by some reviews I thought I was going to have to pay 30 bucks or more to remote into my mac at home. I didn't think I would be able to load up my favourite poker tables and play real poker game on my mac from my phone. I decided to test out this app and it works well. I can load and play on pokerstars from my mac easily. Raising was annoying at first, but once I got a handle on the different cursors I was golden. good job!!!! Well worth 5 bucks. This application has saved my bacon more than once - and have become somewhat reliant on it - having it installed at work and at home I now have access to all files on both machines wherever I go car, boat, can :) makes the iphone practically a laptop - Feature set has gotten better with each release except this last one - Hope the zoom fix comes soon I need my remote tap !!!! This looked like a promising application but after spending an hour or so getting it to work, I found that the screen shot I got was about a quarter of the size of my iPhone screen and completely unreadable and the curser was huge and jittery causing some near catastrophic inadvertent mouse clicks. I could use the 4x zoom feature but that is a lot like an ant trying to read full sized road map. I contacted ReadPixal support and received a prompt reply. Unfortunately the reply was that "there is a small bug in the latest v3.4 version preventing 100% zoom in some circumstances". They failed to mention what those circumstances were but apparently they are mine. I have a MacBook 1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo with 2GB of RAM running OS X 10.5.8. Until they fix this, the application is completely useless to me. (translate)

This is a great app to remote connect to macs. I checked out reviews for a lot of other apps before picking up this one. For the features, ease of use and price this is definitely the best one. How I use it? I use it to remote in to my home mac over my 3g connection and through my router to check on my programs running and make some changes if needed. Love how you can use it to wake your mac up if it is sleeping too. Future recommendations: I'd love to see some more work on the auto focus feature. I'd like to be able to auto focus on any open window by maybe double or triple tapping on it. Keep up the great app guys! (translate)

Running OSX 10.5.5 and this software works amazing. I've tried pretty much all the VNC/Remote Connection Apps on the iPhone and this is the best. I use this and Jaadu VNC regularly all the time except I don't get nearly as much functionality and speed from Jaadu as I do from RemoteTap. This review is based off version 1 so I haven't even been exposed to all the capabilities of version 2 yet. (translate)

I absolutely love this app, its amazing. Its the first thing I show to people when I'm bragging about how amazing my iPhone is. That being said, I was very excited about remote tap 3 and I couldnt wait to be able to hear things going on around my mac. After visiting the site however I see that this wont be possible for me because I dont have osx 10.5 leopard. Any chance of you including osx 10.4? I have no idea if this is extremely difficult or not but I know a lot of people are still happy with using 10.4 and aren't ready to jump to 10.5. (translate)

I bought this program yesterday night and I already played around with it for 2 hours. The screen resolution is alright, the handling of the program is easy, and you don't need to be a genius to figure out how it works or how to set it up. 6.99 is also a fair price. It only crashed once on me while attempting to close something on my mac. It made my mac inoperable and I hate to force shutdown and restart it. The iphone application itself did not crash. Only worth the buy if you need to do something on your mac while you are away. (translate)

I've tried Jaadu & couple of other VNC products. This software by far is the best for iPhone in App store . It was easy to configure and it has a very intelligent operation. I used it in both LAN & 3G network & it worked just as good in both cases. (translate)

I tried jaadu and it worked until subsequent updates rendered it inusable. They had great support but ineffective even though I told them the updates were flawed -- they suggested an awkward workaround which buggered up my network. With a sigh I coughed up more for this app and so far so good. Just improve the resolution and some features that are in jaadu could be used (translate)

I first installed this app and set it up and loved it, but I could not connect outside my local network. i found this really frustrating so i emailed readpixel for support. Dirk emailed me back promptly with sugestions on how to resolve my problem and was extremely helpful and easy to work with. A few emails later i was trying out some new things found that i had over looked something simple in my setup. Dirks advise did help me understand how the setup should work and easy ways to make it work, but in the end it was my user error that was the cause of all my frustration. So in the end i am an extremely satisfied customer altho a little embarrassed. This app is extremely useful and the dedication that Readpixel has to satisfying their customers is incredible (translate)

Great, CHEAP program compared to the others selling their apps for $25. Constant updates and customer support make this app fantastic. Also, I have not found another program that is as simple and easy to use as this one....if you do not know what numbers go where, with the press of a button this app does everything automatically. Having purchased five remote access apps, this is the one that actually has the right balance of user interface and features. If you are looking for a VNC-type app on your iPhone, look no further; RemoteTap is best of breed.What I am still looking for is an app that will do to FrontRow what Apple's Remote app does to iTunes: provide both controls _and_ data on your iPhone intuitively. Oh, and this would be welcome for dozens of other apps as well, but starting with Front Row would be good for now. (translate)

Er godt tilfreds. Programmet fungerer som det skal og har en optimal brugerflade - kunne dog bl.a. godt bruge et auto popup når man trykker på et felt der skal skrives på. Ulempen ligger i at der ikke er nogle fordel ved at bruge app'et frem for sin computer - med mindre man er dogen og ikke gider at rejse sig efter sin computer. Men der ligger noget potentiale i at have adgang til sin computer, selvom den ligger derhjemme - dette ville dog kræve at computeren hverken var slukket eller på standby. En anden ulempe er den snævre styrbarhed der følger med iPhonens skærmstørrelse. Man bliver nødt til at zoome ind for at kunne trykke sig rundt. Her vil iPaden give en større mulighed i det at den er større, og man overfladisk set faktisk vil kunne løbe OSX på ens iPad. Karakteren 5 er givet ud fra det potentiale den vil give til iPad, og de muligheder der ligger i en universal adgang til ens styresystem og oplysninger hjemmefra. Dog kunne der godt bruges nogle små finjusteringer i brugerfladen, og en mindre begrænset adgang til computeren, som ikke kræver at computeren i forvejen er tændt. Det skulle i stedet være muligt at tænde sin computer selvom man er på farten, så man via sin iPad med 3G kunne styre sin computer hjemmefra uanset hvad. (translate)

...und ich hoffe, das bleibt auch so. Seit iOS4 stürzt die App gerne mal ab, wenn man über 5 Minuten damit arbeitet. Außerdem wird das Bild in geringfügig falschen Farben dargestellt. Das stört aber erstmal nicht sehr, denn nutzbar ist sie noch. Jetzt wird sich zeigen, ob die Entwickler noch an RemoteTap arbeiten. Schließlich ist seit 2009 kein Update mehr erschienen (nicht, daß es bislang notwendig gewesen wäre). Richtig begeistert wäre ich, wenn RemoteTap noch iPad-kompatibel gemacht würde, oder zumindest eine Version für das iPad erschiene. Den extra-Kaufpreis wäre es mir definitiv wert - ReadPixel haben ihn sich redlich verdient. (translate)

Ich nutze einen alten MacMini als Headless-MediaServer. iTunes steuere ich über das Remote-App von Apple, VLC-Remote steuert den Video-Part. Es gibt jedoch kleinere Dinge die an einem headless-System anfallen die nach einer echten Remote-Lösung schreien. Hierfür ist RemoteTap in meinen Augen perfekt. Zwar ist die Steuerung des Cursors auf dem verkleinerten Bildschirm eine eher schlechte Sache - was in der Natur der Verkleinerung liegt - RemoteTap kommt hier mit seinen Kernfunktionen jedoch perfekt ins spiel: Programme starten und schliessen, Fenster minimieren und maximieren, kleinere Eingaben vornehmen oder bsp. Software-Updates installieren gehen schnell und ohne "Gefummel" von der Hand. Wer FrontRow mag wird sich zudem über die FR-Remote freuen die tadellos funktioniert - ebenso wie das Starten und Beenden von FrontRow. Alles in allem ein App das durchdacht, nützlich, sauber ausgeführt und definitiv "preisWERT" ist. (translate)

VNC können viele. Remote können viele. LAN können viele, WAN einige.... aber hier habe ich alles zusammen zu einem guten Preis. Installiert, gescannt, LAN funktioniert. Router eingestellt (Portfreigabe), Eingabe, WAN funktioniert. Funktionalitätentest: Wechsel Hauptbildschirm - ok Tastatur - ok Remote - funktioniert Lupe - funktioniert Man muss sich mit dem Manual beschäftigen, dann hat man sehr bald einen wirklich funktionierenden Client für die Couch und unterwegs. Und streamen tu ich sowieso nicht mit VNC, da gibt es anderes..... (translate)

Problemlose Installation, funktionierte sofort: PrefPane Installiert, App Installiert, kurzer Scan + Passwort - fertig! Funktioniert über WLAN bestens, via Internet habe ich es noch nicht probiert aber beim Freund gesehen. Problemlos. Tolle App! Kleiner Zusatz: Die App ist NICHT für streaming ausgelegt, dafür gibt es Andere. Ansonsten muss man sich etwas an die Steuerung gewöhnen, doch das lohnt sich. Es werden Spaces & 2 Monitore zum Umschalten unterstützt, was echt super ist. Mal kurz schauen, ob der lange Download schon fertig ist? Kein Problem! Den Mac aus der ferne ausschalten?... Ich möchte die App nicht mehr missenbund benutze sie täglich. Sehr zu empfehlen! (translate)

Eins vorweg, es funktioniert. Jedoch finde ich die gesamte Steuerung zu hakelig und ungenau. Wobei das mit etwas einarbeiten vielleicht sogar zu schaffen ist. Was mich jedoch überhaupt nicht überzeugt, ist die Geschwindigkeit, in der die Bilder aufgebaut werden. Das jemand geschrieben hat, dass er Filme damit streamen kann, war für mich der entscheidende Punkt es zu kaufen. Jedoch ist das in keinster Weise der Fall! Aber wenn man es braucht, um auf dem Desktop was zu machen, ohne im Raum zu sein und Zeit hat, geht das mit etwas Geduld. iTeleport sollte man sich aber vorher vielleicht auch mal anschauen. Sehr guter Ansatz, VPN und Mauszeiger zu kombinieren, allerdings geht das Konzept doch sehr zu Lasten der Bedienbarkeit - einen typischen Mac-Bildschirm auf einem 2,5" Bildschirm abzubilden ist natürlich eine Herausforderung - RemoteTap löst es so: man sieht eine ca. 4 fache Verkleinerung des Bildschirminhaltes auf dem iPhone und tippt auf einen bestimmten, absoluten Punkt (ähnlich wie bei einem Wacom-Grafiktablett). Eleganter wäre aber eine Art visuelles Trackpad gewesen, welche bis auf hartes Klicken alle Gesten eines MacBook-Multitouchpads relativ umsetzt, dabei aber den Bereich um die Maus auf dem Trackpad mit anzeigt, wobei das umzusetzen sicher auch eine Herausforderung wäre, da man ja doch gewillt wäre, absolut Gesten auszuführen. Egal, das Konzept ist schon mal sehr gut und hat noch Potenzial, so dass ich die App empfehlen kann. (translate)

Im Wlan und mobil immer auf den mac zugreifen können, in einer Qualität, wow! Ich bin begeistert. Setup: schnell und einfach! Kurz ein Problem gehabt; rtfm! Auf der Webseite steht alles was ich brauchte. (an meinen Vorredner:)Wake on LAN geht natürlich nur wenn der mac an einem ethernet Kabel hängt. Wenn der Bildschirm dunkel (aus) ist funtioniert es einwandfrei, ein Klick mit der Maus (Finger) auf dem iPhone und schon geht der bildschirm an. Nach kurzer Einarbeitung geht die Steuerung nun intuitiv von der Hand. Das rendern übernimmt der mac, so dass man im WLAN in realtime zuschauen kann, sogar quasi streamen von Filmen ist möglich. Sehr zu empfehlen! WOW SUPER APP! (translate)

Wenn der Mac im Ruhemodus ist, TFT dunkel, geht kein connect. Erst wenn ich eine Taste am Mac drücke funktioniert der connect. So stelle ich mir keine Remote Software vor, deswegen nur . Der istat Server funktioniert in diesem Ruhezustand. Bitte ändern, dann gibt es . (translate)

Im Gegensatz zu anderen VNC basierenden Loesungen hat man hier eben einen schoenen Application launcher und schnell erreichbare Shortcuts wie Copy Paste etc. Besonders angenehm ist der automatische Focus bei dem sich Zoom und der Displayausschnitt automatisch dem Programm und dem jeweiligen Programmfenster anpasst. Man muss dadurch viel weniger herumzoomen, um den richtigen Bildausschnitt zu bekommen. Ich verwende bisher Jaadu VNC. RemoteTab ist guenstiger genauso schnell und hat pfiffigere Hilfsmittel an Bord. Leider kommt das Programm nicht ohne Installation am Client aus. Dafuer kann man aber alternative Ports verwenden. Damit kommt man besser an Firewalls vorbei. (translate)

Prefpane stürzt regelmassig ab, keine Verbindung über WLAN nur mobil. Wenn diese Fehler behoben sind bekommt es wieder die volle Punktzahl, 5 Sterne. UPDATE. Version 3.4 hat den Fehler nicht behoben dafür kann ich mit mein iPhone 3G nicht mehr zoomen oder besser gesagt zoomen geht aber das Bild wird nicht feiner aufgelöst es wird extrem pixelig so das man gar nichts mehr erkennen kann. Das Programm wird von update zu update immer schlechter. Habe nun 2 Sterne abgezogen. (translate)

Ich nutze das Programm nun schon eine ganze weile auf meinem iPhone in Verbindung mit meinem iMac und es funktioniert tadellos. Mit jedem Update wird es stetig verbessert und meist um ein paar nützliche Funktionen erweitert. Ebenfalls sehr lobenswert ist der Support. Man antwortet sehr zügig auf E-Mails falls man doch mal einen Fehler gefunden hat oder einfach mal ein Lob loswerden möchte. Auch ein deutscher Support ist verfügbar, man muss sich also ggf. nicht mit seinem gebrochenen Englisch melden :-)Besonders nützlich finde ich übrigens die Funktion "Wake on LAN" das z.B. im Zusammenspiel mit der FritzBox und aktueller Firmware bestens funktioniert. Das Programm ist gut! Für den Preis bietet es gute Funktionen. Ich habe es vor allem gekauft, um Programme auf dem Mac zu starten (vor allem iTunes). Dies klappt mit dem Programm perfekt. Einiges könnte aber noch verbessert werden. So stürzt der Mac (nicht die iPhone App) regelmäßig ab, wenn man auf das entsprechende Menüleisten-Symbol klickt. Sehr schön finde ich aber die Möglichkeit, einen präzisen Klick durch langes Halten machen zu können. Wieder weniger gut gelungen ist die Möglichkeit, einen Rechtsklick zu machen. Es bietet zwar interessante Zusatzfeatures, die Jaadu VNC nicht mitbringt (wakeonlan, appstarter, Pointer) aber die Bedienung ist leider nicht so flüssig und intuitiv möglich, weil man zwischen scroll- und Klick-Modus wechseln muss. Für den Preis und die Funktionsvielfalt gibts trotzdem gerade noch 4 Sterne aber die Steuerung ist sehr sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig, wenn man den easeofuse von JaaduVNC einmal kennen und lieben gelernt hat. Nicht zu vergessen, dass man mit Jaadu natürlich auch Windowsrechner fernsteuern kann. Ein wirklich tolles Remote Support Tool a la Teamviewer oder ShowMyPC fehlt leider immer noch im AppStore. Wie ich finde, derzeit die beste Fernsteuerung für den Mac im App-Store. Sehr gut finde ich zum Beispiel, dass man für die Fernsteuerung über EDGE nichts ewig konfigurieren muss, einfach das kleine Controller-Prog von der Webside herunterladen, installieren (installiert sich in der Systemsteuerung) und fertig. Je suis sous mac, 3G, wifi, tout marche. Il faut juste modifier les paramétres du modem routeur pour activer UPnP et rentrer l'adresse IP (mettez un mot de passe par sécurité...) Pas besoin de vnc ou autre une simple appli dans les préférences système se met en place. (coché "router plug and play" et hop...) C'est vraiment génial, le clavier est complet, la souris demande un temps d'adaptation mais viens vite (laisser votre doigt sur l'écran pour être plus précis, un petit zoom s'affiche...) L'interface général et très bien optimisé... On peux tout faire avec C'est une de mes appli préféré :) Bye (translate)

L'interfaccia è davvero completa (con scorciatoie da tastiera, selettore applicazioni attive e dock, puntatore per spostamento e controllo cursore e funziona anche da apple remote). Ho scaricato 7 applicazioni di questo tipo, tutte a pagamento chi piu chi meno, non curandomi dei commenti o delle caratteristiche evidenziate dalle case produttrici dei soft in questione e dopo averle installate tutte(!) comodo dal campeggio ho iniziato i test. Non sto a dilungarmi nei dettagli ma questa applicazione decisamente supera e sbaraglia le concorrenti per dei semplici motivi: 1- ha tutto cio che un utente desidera per controllare il proprio mac da luoghi remoti. 2- ovviamente dalla banda a disposizione dipende la fluidità ma per urgenze reali anche Edge è di vitale importanza o il 3G, non limitandosi al wi-fi che è piu raro che utile in molti casi, come fanno tutte le altre applicazioni del genere. 3- non leggendo io mai istruzioni di nessun tipo garantisco che l'usabilita di tutto il soft, comprese le impostazioni per le connessioni, è di una semplicità disarmante! Solo a chi serve davvero il controllo remoto può capire l'importanza di questo soft 3.3! Ottimo! (translate)

L'autofocus muove la finestra dove gli pare, la piccola finestra zoom che si vede anche negli screenshot funziona una volta su cinque, spesse volte in posizioni errate. Anche lo zoom con due dita (pinch) e' praticamente impossibile da usare. Nonostante questo programma sia alla versione 3, sembra di utilizzare un applicazione in alpha. Lo sconsiglio vivamente. This App is the best Mac VNC App for me! :-)Mac用に特化されているVNCアプリです。DockやSpacesの制御、複数ディスプレイの切り替えもちょいちょいのポーンで出来てかなり便利です。Macユーザーなら、迷わずこのアプリを買っちゃうといいと思うよ。使うためにはMac側に作者Webサイトで配布しているソフトをインストールする必要があります(システム環境設定の1項目という形になります)。で、もうひとつSoundFlowerというソフトもインストールして、作者のサイトの手順通りに設定すれば、なんと音声も引っ張ってきてくれるようになります！これが、すごーく便利☆ 音声のある／なしでこんなにもVNCの感覚が変わるのかと。まさに、遠くのマシンが手元にきたー！って感じになりますよ。今回、このアプリを「お風呂で、リビングにあるMac miniの中のゲームをやりたいが為」に導入してみましたが、大正解でした。もちろんレーシングゲームなどには無理がありますが、Hidden Objectゲームをするには十分ですよ☆バグがあった時代の評価が残っていることで評価平均は低いですが、現バージョンは快適ですよー。もっと評価されて、有名アプリになるといいですね☆ (translate)

mac用のクライアントソフトを常駐させて使うみたいんだんですが、環境設定で該当のペインをクリックすると入力を受け付けなくなります。しかもサービスは起動しても肝心のリモート操作が出来ず、iPhoneは黒い画面のまま・・・高い金取るなら最低限動作保証はしておけ！ 2009年1月9日 追記 Mac、iPhone用共にバージョンが2にアップデートされて普通に繋がるようになりました。環境設定のフリーズもなくなり快適に使えます。 画面の描画も普通のvncクライアントに比べて早いですし(jaaduには劣る)、アプリ切り替えやスリープ解除、ログアウト時の自動スリープなど、独自機能も豊富なのでこれでこの価格なら妥当だと思います。 一度切断するとアプリ再起動しないと再接続できないのはどうにかしてください (translate)

Compre esta app porque perdi mi control y se veia interesante. Mala idea: la imagen de la pantalla se ve pixeleada, tiene lag, los videos no se ven bien, no controla el volumen, al entrsr a Front Row me saca al intentar ver algo, tiene demasiados botones que la hacen dificil de comprender (Apple es sobre cosas sencillas), en fin, personalmente no me gusto. Luego compre Rowmote Pro y que diferencia (este review lo escribo utilizandolo) es muy sencillo de diseño y de usar, es cierto, no se ve la pantalla pero, para que quiero mi monitor en el iPhone si ni siquiera se ve bien ni se entiende?!, ademas es 20 pesos mas barata! En definitiva mucho mejor, si no me creen prueben las dos, y como yo, arrepientance de gastar 70 pesos de mas. (translate)

La aplicacion funciona bastante bien en casa, te permite hacer absolutamente todo lo que puedes hacer con tu teclado y mouse en tu mac, abrir cualquier aplicacion y controlarla, ya sea mail, pages etc. Es como estar frente a la computadora. Sin embargo a mi me ha resultado muy complicado el configurarla para acceso remoto fuera de mi red local, simplemente no puedo configurar el modem de Infinitum 2wire Blanco 2701HG-T, para mandar los paquetes TCP a mi Ipod Touch 2g ya que el modem no cuenta con la tecnologia Plug & Play. Ik gebruik m'n Mac als media center en heb sinds kort m'n toetsenbord en muis in de kast gelegd. Remotetap werkt gewoon erg goed en langzamerhand ga je meer en meer features gebruiken; gewoon omdat het goed werkt! Support is trouwens ook erg goed: Plex werkte bijvoorbeeld niet goed met de apple remote, en toen kreeg ik binnen 24 uur een nieuwe versie van de pref pane toegestuurd waarmee alles perfect werkt. Ook miste ik een functionaliteit om je iphone als mousepad te gebruiken, en deze komt in de eerstvolgende update (4.1) beschikbaar. Kortom, een perfecte app die alsmaar completer wordt. (translate)

Great app! Works exactly as described. Autozoom on windows is very practical and setting my mac up was very easy. The only thing I had to to was downloading the pref pane. The only thing the app can't, and what I think it's very easy for all those shortkeys, is pressing the eject-key. Hopefully this feature can be added to a future update. - Every time I want to logon, I have to re-scan my network and set up my macbook from the beginning. If I just choose my previous saved macbook connection I get an error message stating that the connection on port xxxx cannot be established etc yadayadayada.- Apple Remote feature doesn't work with Plex. - The mouse is actually positioned just BELOW where you point your fingers, so you have to tap just OVER the place you actually want to click to hit the right spot.. awful! Whilst this worked fine with my iPhone 3G I cannot get it to work at all with my iPhone 4. I have tried and tried to no avail and the support is useless!! I have sent them 3 emails over 4 days and got back ONE automated reply. This is a paid for app and they need to get it right before charging customers or at the very least reply to emails! It can easily cope with 30" screen and dual-screen configurations that cause other clients to fail. The only problem is that app hasn't been updated for iPhone 4 and iPad yet, so it has ugly blurry display on these devices. And it still zooms to topleft corner of the screen, rather than center. I have bought all the competitors as well but this is easily the best Mac remote option. You do have to get used to it - so give it an hour, then it clicks how well thought out things are and why things have been done as they have been. I too had the fuzzy pictures fault but within hours of reporting this they had sent Apple the fix. I then had to wait the usual three weeks while Apple considered the file. Apple really should do something about this and fast track an update when a release is a minor change but an uessential bug fix. The app is so good I wish Readpixel would do a Mac and PC version too (translate)

Great idea but unreliable. Over wifi its 100% solid, but over mobile network it isnt. One day it works, next day it doesn't; even if nothing on system or iPhone has been changed. This makes it pretty useless if you want to use it for work. The main problem seems to be the "server" software they supply for the mac. Sort it out!!! (translate)

I bought this remote desktop not long after buying RDM, and I do much prefer using this one, only that's when it works. Luckily enough I've still got the other remote destop app on my phone, and I have no trouble connecting with that. If my Macbook's on, it'll connect. Simple as. Whereas with this app, it does like to error the first few tries before eventually connecting sometimes, but others it just won't have it. And after checking, it seems that the computer's software seems to drop out and stop running for no reason. Also, some of the graphics leave something to be desired, especially the horrid 4 blue squares with numbers in that jumps up when you want to switch spaces. It's an invaluable tool, which I'm over the moon it's been put in place, only it's not pleasant to look at. Maybe if it weren't so 2D and flat looking? Brings down the general appearance, which overall is quite nice. (translate)

Good idea and works ok for some of the time. However, it fails to awaken remote MAC when in sleep mode and it does not fill the screen of the iPhone. Despite two emails from me there has been no response from customer service, which is a pity as I am sure an update would resolve these issues. This application is so awesome. I am in fact using it to type this review. The set up is the easiest thing ever, just install the prefpane on the mac and the iPhone will find your computer, the only thing that must be input is the password. Everything is absolutely flawless except that the apple remote section exhibits some illogical behaviour when on iTunes.It's also extremely fast (on a wLAN, not tried off site yet). You have to buy this if you want a mac VNC application. (translate)

The simplicity of the app, along with its multi-functionality is great. Its only able to remote view and control whichever user account on the computer is active at the time, as of yet it can not be used for an account after the users have switched or the computer is on standby. But for its price it is well worth the cost, I have yet to find a program that I can't control over this. If you looking to have further control of your computer whilst walking around the house or office, looking to spy on other computer users or simply pretend your mac is hands free it works brilliantly with only a slight delay. This is without doubt the best from what I've tried, especially with the ability to scale down the display to the iPhone display, the number of times I've lost 3G connection and this has worked fast enough because of that ability has saved me so much hassle. That said, there have been a few bugs that I hope will be ironed out, but when this software works as intended I believe there is nothing better at present. And in answer to the bad review that says this is no better than a free VNC client, that is so untrue, makes me think they don't know what their doing or maybe work for a competitor. So no pesky WiFi needed.I have an old router and it was tricky to set up (Wake on Lan & Dynamic DNS for a non static IP) but well worth it.The instruction could be simpler but the chap gave me great, quick support via email even when I was being inept.It impressed a lot of my friends (especially the PC ones) and has actually been very useful.The only App I have ever bought and felt I had NOT wasted money. I installed this last night and had my os x tiger G5 iMac up and running on my iPhone 3G within ten minutes. On my home Apple Airport Extreme it was very easy to setup, with full instructions on how to setup my particular wifi router (as well as others) provided on the developer's website. It took me a while to get the hang of using the iphone to use my computer remotely, but it was an incredible experience. You can open any program or file and view it on your iPhone but I did find that playing a movie or music video had terrible screen lag on the iPhone. Of course I doubt anyone would want to do that, but other than that issue, everything works just great as it would if you were sat directly in front of your computer. I like the way you can set it to wake your computer from sleep before loading the screen on the iphone as well as asking you if you want to put the computer back to sleep on closing the program. I have not yet tried Internet connection yet, but according to one of the reviews that is more tricky, I will have to see. But at just four quid it is truly remarkable. (translate)

Very easy to setup over your local network but very hard to setup over 3G/Edge network. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to control their mac away from home unless you have a static ip address and know your way around your router, if you do not know what a static ip address is the chances are you do not have one. Some work needs to be done to make the setup a little more easy for your average joe. Only 2 stars because it does not state you need a static ip address in the description and they make it sound easier to setup than it really is. (translate)

I'm very happy that after months without an update RemoteTap has received two recent updates. I hope progress continues. This is a very handy app. Two notable issues, both relating to the iPad. First, it would be great if this really supported the iPad (meaning iPad native to use the full screen properly). It's still usable in the iPhone size in a pinch. Second, the newest update requires iOS 4.0 - which isn't available on the iPad. I already had the older version loaded so I'm ok, but until iOS 4.2 for iPad is out there's no way to download and install it again should reinstallation be required. (translate)

I couldn't really ask for any more control than what this app provides. You can do basically anything with your computer from across the room or across the city. I'll use it as a remote for when I have my MBP hooked up to the TV, or can dial in from anywhere to reference a file, etc. My only gripe is with the Mac OS side. How this app works with the firewall is frustrating and I have to authorize incoming connections for it every time I log in. That also makes it useless when trying to use it on a normal user account as you need admin access to "modify" the firewall settings. There has got to be a way to make it play nicer with the Mac OS firewall, the only thing keeping this from being 5 stars. (translate)

Loved (note the past tense) the app. It was the best VNC app for the iPhone. Used it everyday. Innovative, easy to use, and very customizable. BUT, it took them months to fix a serious compatibility issue with iOS 4. AND they all but ignored months of emails and complaints on this board before they finally can out of hiding and fix the problem. This is completely unacceptable. If you need a VNC app, avoid this one. Based on the developer's track record, you will have no assurance it will be they will be there for you if there's a incompatibility problem. You might end up waiting months before you can use it again. I couldn't (and shouldn't have had to) wait. I bought Jump Desktop (when it was on sale for $5) and haven't been happier. (translate)

the good: fastest over wifi. works over 3G. does what it says. sweet keyboards. the bad: customer service. sometimes the app doesn't show the tool bar at the bottom so I cannot exit the session with out going to the home screen thus loosing my comp settings. very frustrating!!! worth 4$ not the usual 7$. I'm extremely pleased that this app has been updated. I had feared that this app would fade into obscurity. This app has always been superior to the other vnc solutions out there, most of which cost several times as much. It is designed for the Mac from the ground up and provides many innovative features, such as an application list and Front Row remote. I'm not reinstating my 5 star rating because of the uncertain status of this update; I'm waiting for indications that the developer will be implementing the retina display and other new features, but I'm extremely pleased that this app has returned. This once was a fantastic app. I'm sure it is again. However, in the meantime, they took two months to make it compatible with iOS 4 - during which time they didn't respond to anyone's emails. As far as anyone could tell, they had taken the money and ran. So I spent $20 on iTeleport, even though it lacks some of RemoteTap's convenient Mac-tailored features. And now I feel burned. If these developers had bothered to update their site or respond to emails, I would have held off. (Especially if I'd found out sooner about TeamViewer, which is a pretty decent remote desktop app that's actually *free*) Bottom line: RemoteTap is a great product with irresponsible developers. Don't buy this expecting any technical support whatsoever, and don't be surprised if the developers take months to fix incompatibilities with future iOS updates. (translate)

After much waiting ReadPixel had updated their RemoteTap application with ONE bug fix. How about some fast app switching support? This is a good app, however the developers seem to be doing the absolute bare minimum, and at $4.99, thats a luxury they cant afford to maintain if they want to keep their customers. They DO NOT EVER REPLY TO SUPPORT EMAILS so don't even bother wasting your time. Use another app whose developers are bothering to continue updating, and improving. If they actually do decide to do something with the app, I would love to be able to customize the lower menu, because some stuff I will never use, and some stuff I use all the time, such as volume adjustment. I don't want to have to tap and hold to adjust volume, I use it too much for that. Get it together ReadPixel, at the very least send me back an email saying "screw you, and the 5 dollars you spent on the app" (translate)

I love it, the zoom is great, the audio features are great, the remote wake is great, everything is great!! 2 feature requests: 1) the ability to hide the toolbar & status bar 2) the ability to paste from the iPhone's clipboard (this would be great we can type a whole message on the iPhone in the Notepad and then paste it into Pages, rather than typing the whole thing remotely) and I guess copy from the home Mac and paste it to the iPhone would be helpful too.. This is the bestest of the bestest remote desktop kit for you iPhone. It does work on the ipad zoomed in "2x" mode which leaves a lot to be desired. I have been researching other remote desktop apps because I have an iPad now and would like to utilize the larger screen real estate but I don't want to spend the $$ because IF -(when?) Remote Tap iPad comes out it will blow them all away and I will have wasted said $$s. In short: only 4 stars because no iPad version. Requests for iPad version: Hideable menus. multi touch controls. mouse click options menu. dedicated "apple remote" maybe in one 1/4 of ipad screen? However, I never receive a response when I send email to support. If you have an issue, expect to struggle through it by yourself. The website does have good instructions and FAQ, but customer service is nonexistent. Good for streaming music, bad for streaming video. Great for sending files to yourself when you forgot them at home, or need to view archives. It could also be used to monitor what other people are doing on your computer. (translate)

Looked at LogMeIn Ignition, but the several reviews from Mac users that were negative made me shy away. I saw a comment on an article about LogMeIn on the net and one of the people who commented mentioned RemoteTap. Price is much better than LogMeIn or Jaadu and it was easy to configure and worked like a charm. I can log into my computers from inside my network or from the outside and navigating the remote computer was easy and fairly quick — very little lag (no more than LogMeIn). No worrying about the remote computers screen size or resolution. It's like a Mac — it just works. You do need to enable NAT port mapping on your router (what some routers call plug-n-play port forwarding) first, but this is easy if you have Airport. I'm very pleased. (translate)

Great but only 1 problem, the display of my desktop is distorted, kind of like a printer thats almost out of ink. But that dosent really bother me when you consider what it does. If you're thinking, "I wont be able to use it, it probably requires some special expensive software to be downloaded to your computer." IT DOSENT!!! All that is required on your computers part is a free installation of the preferences bar, a little easy set up, and you're set to go! The coolest thing about this app is that I used it to write this review!!!! (translate)

This used to be the absolute best remote control app for Macau available. But it badly needs an update for iOS4, iPhone 4's retina display, multitasking, and the iPad. Until it's updated, I'd avoid it. The developer doesn't respond to emails anymore either. Unfortunately I think I'll have to switch to iTeleport. Remote Tap 4.0.5 colors looked perfect and the software worked fine using iPhone software version 3, other than it would not wake my iMac running 10.6 from sleep. For some reason when I updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS4 all of the blue and red pixels became switched. I have emailed the developer twice, without any reply as of yet. I have no idea if it is just me, because they have not replied. The other two times I emailed support regarding my wake from sleep issue I never received a reply then either. I checked their troubleshooting tips extensively and tried every suggestion to no avail. Since the support is non-existant and the colors are incorrect I have to feel compelled to give this application only 1 star. (translate)

I have recently bought my first Mac, I've had it no more then a week and since I'm going off to college apple threw in a free Ipod touch. I must say that this app is one of the best things you can spend 5 itunes bucks on. I will be living on a campus with wireless so it will work great for me, your situation might be less accommodating but in most cases it works out well. I can sit in the living room with my Ipod touch and run my computer as if it were right in front of it. the user face is incredibly easy to use expecially including the fact that everything must fit on the ipod screen. I give the developers of this app an A+. One issue I have not looked into yet is security. Just consider that for yourselves, but from what I've seen this app is a homerun. (translate)

Setup was VERY easy. I would say even the most intermediate user of a computer can follow the clear directions provided on the website as well as in the app. A dream function would be to have streaming audio for making my iPhone psudo flash capable. I love using remote tap it's fast over 3G very good price and works great! Eventually it stopped working over 3G but I restarted my wireless router and it started working again so everyone who couldn't get it to work over 3G try restarting your wireless router. You should not have to restart your wireless router very often if even ever. Great app love it you should get this app. Do not buy logmeinignition to much money from the start (30$) and less features!! Buy remote tap it is so worth it! (translate)

Great app, only VNC program with sound! Lots of great features but these features can be buggy. Spaces shortcut is awesome, but constantly ignores the user input. This requires a program restart. Custom keyboards are great but the "mouse to screen corner" commands don't work, keyboard shortcuts default to mac keyboard shortcuts (this interferes with the f1-f12 keys when the "use all f keys as standard function keys is unchecked) Technical features requested: ability to change visual quality (turn background on/off, color bit depth). Ability to move shortcut bar to left side of screen. (translate)

this app is soo fast (if you have a gd ipod) im a kid and all i do is spy on my mom (who always uses the computer :P) its extremely fast i can watch every letter be typed when it is typed. extremely gd. RemoteTap is the perfect app to remotely access your Mac: Not only is it astonishingly fast but it also has some very helpful add-ons like an iPhone-adapted application switcher list (so no fumbling in the dock is necessary). Far more usable than any standard VNC client (and less expensive, too). I hated the idea of paying for a VNC client, but this thing was worth every penny. The features are very cleverly implemented in a very iPad/iPod/iPhone/OSX-friendly way. I've tried free alternatives, and the interfaces were essentially unusable. The interface gets 5 stars, but this thing needs regular babysitting. I can never count on being able to log in because the desktop server quits working on a regular basis.
