I like this game and the controls are ok but this game glitches for me like crazy, it randomly hangs up and after restarting my phone it still won't work, I downloaded the game again and it did the same glitch in another area of the game so now I have to replay the same sections over and over again so frustrating!! Please fix and I will rate higher!! (translate)

Just loved this game. Best value for money and wow Penelope Keith - I am a huge fan. If only there were more like this great job to the development team. Games like this used to cost megabucks for PC versions just so glad I downloaded it a real brain exercise in lateral thinking thankyou (translate)

Please bring more games like this (old Lucas arts, grim fandango, Indiana and the FOA, day of the tentacle, Sam & Max, Hugo, wolfbane, the Zork games, sleuth, conspiracy, Sherlock holmes consulting detective, full throttle, Byzantine the betrayal, Frankenstein through the eyes of the monster, maddog Williams, space quest, etc.) to the iPhone! This is great :) well worth the few dollars. (translate)

After reading so many reviews in previous versions of people complaining about using the cursor, the developers has finally listened and included an optional Touch mode which can be switched on-the-fly. So now there's less headaches to be had Still some slight problems though, there's no "your game has been saved" nofitication when you save and you can't rename the save files and it would be nice if the cutscenes were remastered to make it a bit more appealing. The audio quality isn't great either (very tinny/fuzzy) & the voice acting is so-so but the only way to fix that would be to remaster the entire thing including the interface that whilst its improved, its still clumsy when compared to Broken Sword simply because its so dated & still hasn't properly been adjusted to the iTouch (translate)

I loved this game. Had never heard of it before, even though I am a fan of this genre. Controls take a bit of getting used to, but once you are in the swing of things it is really hard to put down. Great stuff. Looking forward to more releases. (translate)

Oh man, I miss the good-ol-days of truly great adventure games like this. A hilarious storyline, real puzzles and brilliant dialog - this has filled a serious gap on my iPhone! I find it difficult to play this game because of having to drag the tiny cursor around like a mouse pointer... The game itself is awesome and I love love love Lucas arts games so it sh$ts me to tears that I struggle to play this one because of the painful controls. DEVELOPERS PLEASE CHECK OUT THE IPHONE GAME 1112 AND TRY TO IMPLEMENT SOME CONTROLS SIMILAR TO THEIRS! Update: the controls became easier with time although still a bit of a struggle... Forget the guy with the one star score, this is an amazing game. The controls work just fine, with the mouse cursor not following your fingertip, but the touchscreen working like a mousepad. And the game itself is WAY better content-wise. Its a long, intriguing story with just the right dificulty, and a handy link to an online help website. A must buy for adventure fans!! (translate)

Otro juego del estilo point and click (Pero Moderno) es el 1112, lo recomiendo mucho!!! the game itself is brilliant, but the port to the iphone is completely rubbish. its not point and click, you have to drag your finger to move a mouse pointer (which gets in the way since your finger is on the screen trying to drag something and its hard to see), you often "click" (by just touching the screen) which causes Joe to do something you don't want him to do. so great game, but waste of money as its pretty unplayable.also if you accidentally exit the app (i pushed the home button by mistake) and come back into the game, you're not were you left off, you have to restore from a save game (if you remembered to make one) (translate)

I've been waiting for a point and click game for the iPhone!! I loved this gene of games from the Nineties! The graphics, animations & puzzles are pretty cool, but unfortunatly the game suffers in the user interaction ,with the buttons being too small. You drag an arrow cursor around the screen which is also a bit clunky as your fingers get in the way. This game came out in 1995 and has since become freeware for the PC. It is ported to the iPhone using an emmulator. There are walkthroughs out there for this very lenghty game. FOTAQ is quite a good story! I reccomend it! (translate)

I want to do that?"-kommentar). Nu har jag ingen koll på hur mycket man kan påverka när man portar ett spel men...To dev: Instead of moving the cursor with a finger, wouldn't it be easier to just touch the screen to move/place it somewhere? Maybe not possible b/c it's a ported game... That's why I gave it a 4 :) Btw, seems like it consumes a lot of battery...? Maybe it's normal. (translate)

The game seems like a classic hit and the iPhone is the best console for this game. However controls are disapointing, and I really didn't get far due to the confusing controls. I dowloaded this with trepidation after reading some of the earlier reviews. Shouldn't have worried. Yes the contols are not as instantly accessible as you'd like, but they're no more difficult than monkey island, and once you've gotten used to them they work surprisingly well. Played the game on the Amiga many years ago, but had little memory of it. Was pleasantly surprised to find a gem of a game. The humour, voice acting and writing is great and the puzzles are logical. There's no tip system, but the puzzles are layered so effectively that with a bit of perserverance they can be worked out. One of the first times I havent reverted to a walktrough for a game of this type. Enjoying this more than I did Monkey Island. If you like point and clicks you can't go wrong with this one Buy and enjoy! (translate)

I'm impressed, a good game and feels similar to Indy and the fate of Atlantis (which is begging for an iPhone port alongside Monkey Island). V1.3 REVIEW I was glad to see an auto-save feature brought in with V1.2, and it works fine on a casual basis. But as in ALL the updated versions, the in-game save (accessed through the journal) STILL will NOT work, EVEN IN V1.3, due to the lack of a keyboard. No-one seems to have tested the instructions they're giving out! It's a great game; but my reviews explaining this issue have been up for weeks, without anybody fixing this simple problem. Please, just give us a keyboard popup in the journal! ORIGINAL REVIEW I really like this game, and the graphics have come across really well from the original. The controls took a bit of experimentation, even given the shake-to-view manual. The most surprising choice is NOT to put the pointer below your finger at all times but move it relative. Still, given the object sizes, that's probably wise. Great game with plenty to it. Buy it now! (translate)

Love this game and would recomend it to anyone, any age. even if you get stuck on the storyline, theres lots you can do, and theres no way of dying or a time limit, so you wont feel pushed. Great graphics and sound. Love it. The arrow pointer is a bit annoying but I can live with it. Please convert other point and clicks - indiana jones, monkey island etc!! (translate)

V1.2 REVIEW I'm glad to see an auto-save feature has been brought in, and on a casual basis this does solve the problems of the unsavable v1.1. The improved point-and-click is more sensible too, and well explained in the shake-to-view help. However, the in-game save (accessed through the journal) STILL will NOT work due to the lack of a keyboard. No-one seems to have tested the instructions they're giving out! Still, it's a great game; just be careful never to tap "New Game"... Buy it now! (translate)

Finally! A classic point-&-click adventure game that has storyline, good playability & humour. If you like monkey island, you'll love this game!! I really hope this is the first of many games like it. (translate)

I disagree about the controls of this game, they couldn't be any easier. Move cursor to select action, click on item then click on where you want to use it. Simple! Just hope the author will port more great lucasarts games like monkey island, Sam & max and Indiana jones fate of atlantis. Top marks. (translate)

Ahh, this is the kind of game the iPhone was made for. I love the classic point and click genre. This is a good game, fun, good graphics. Slightly dodgy controls though. MORE of this type if game please. Lucasarts take notice. Monkey island would be amazing. Anyway well done developers. Keep improving please. (translate)

I loved this game on my pc and SCUMM and was overjoyed to see it on the iPhone but it's buggy and very hard to control. The keyboard keeps popping up randomly and I can't find a way to use an object! Please make it work and start working your way through the other SCUMM titles (Monkey Island on the iPhone!) Full marks for trying though ANC greatly appreciated! (translate)

All the good ratings must be from iPhone/iPod users. I appreciate game develops making an iPad version, but you create the impression that this looks better than the usual "iPhone x2" window on the iPad. It doesn't ... It looks so bad that it gives you an instant headache. Buy this for your iPhone only (translate)

First they created an iPhone port of this game, and now we have "Simon the Sorcerer" as well! I've also heard that "Beneath a Steel Sky" is also coming to us as well! with LucasArts completely remaking a higher resolution version of "Monkey Island" (with a FLAWLESS iPhone control scheme), I'm seeing a bright future for a resurgange of the commercial graphical point'n'click genre on mobiles with all new titles soon! If you are a fan of casual pacing, deep humorous storylines, and a lot of fun (or you are just feeling nostalgic, like me!) then PLEASE support the efforts of companies like iPhSoft and LucasArts so we can demonstrate this genre can once again be worthy of their investments in new titles. Maybe we'll see "Grim Fandango" or "Sam and Max" from LucasArts or "The Legend of Kryandia" soon from iPhSoft???? maybe they will put out a poll for thier next iPhone port? Enjoy this game! And thanks iPhSoft! please keep this wonderful genre growing on the iPhone! (translate)

I used to play this game when I was younger and was very impressed with it. When I stumbled upon this in the app store I was amazed that such an obscure game would be released in today's market. I am glad that they did however and this is a very faithful port that I will enjoy for years to come. Definetly a worthy addition to anyones library of point and click adventures. Kudos to the developers. (translate)

I never played this one way back when, but I used to love these types of adventure games. And now that scummvm is porting so many of them to so many platforms, we can play them all over again! I so hope more come our way. I was fortunate enough to catch this game when it was briefly posted (accidentally I'm sure) for free. It had at least one major bug in it at the time (the screen kept changing to portrait mode and the keyboard would pop up when you'd tilt the iphone slightly), but otherwise worked great. The only other issue was the controls - it took some time to understand them (since there was very little info on how to play) and get used to them. But once I was, no further problems. Unfortunately, this new version has a new problem for me - while the major bug is gone, now I can't bring up the keyboard at all! So I can't save my games! I'm really hoping I don't have to reinstall the game since then I'll lose all my saves. Hopefully this is another bug they'll fix (but then how could they have let it through without catching that?). Once that issue's fixed, I'd probably raise my rating to 5 stars.[update] The description now describes how to save a game. However, this just doesn't work. I place the cursor on the Make Entry button and tap, and that displays the cursor in one of the save fields. But the keyboard doesn't appear, so there's no way to enter a save name. And w/o a save name, the game doesn't save when I tap the cursor on Yes. Another bug that I've found is that every time I start the game, it starts from the beginning rather than the last place I was playing - the previous version used to resume at the place I left off.[update 2] Ok, I spoke with the developer, and it turns out this save/keyboard thing is a bug for those who got the initial free version. Unfortunately, (for now at least - maybe it'll be fixed in the future) you need to uninstall the game and reinstall it. Then you can save, but of course you lose all your previous saves. :( Also, this new version has no auto-save, which is why you need to load a saved game each time you start. I really hope at least that issue is fixed, if not both. (translate)

This adventure game has kept my interest because of all of the twists and turns woven into the storyline. It's a true throwback to the games I used to enjoy so much (like the King's Quest series, Gabriel Knight, & Leisure Suit Larry), and displays perfectly on the iPhone. I look forward to picking it up every day and seeing where the characters will lead me. I'm taking my sweet time because I don't want the game to end and because I haven't seen anything of this type (other than Myst) offered in the App Store. Like other reviewers, I've had a problem with the "save" function because the keyboard never shows up to allow me to name my game. Fortunately, the auto-save function has seemed to work and I have been able to resume where I left off. One change I would make when loading the game, however, is that the "New Game" and "Resume Game" buttons are right next to each other. I must have hit the "New Game" by mistake one time, and had to start over from scratch (you lose all the previous data). I would at the very least add a blurb asking if you were sure you wanted to start a new game if you chose that button. I am a big fan of hidden object games and have bought most of them. However, I must say that these classic adventure games hold my interest far longer and are well worth the purchase. I hope that Apple will realease more games of this type because I know there is a huge audience just waiting for them. (translate)

Took some getting used to with the controls, but I really thought this was fun. I always loved all of those point and click adventure games - Indiana Jones, Monkey Island, etc. It's not boring and redundant like those hidden object and puzzle games. It's way more interactive, which I prefer. I hope that iTunes will offer more of this type of game!! (translate)

Even if it is old it is fantastic! The game is solid and well produced. The update helped the controls a lot.It isn't too easy, but not impossible either. I had to look at walkthroughs a few times, and when I saw the answer I was usually thinking "I would have tried that eventually!".The puzzles all "make sense". The humor in the story was great too...made me laugh many times! The game has voice acting all the way through, and with subtitles as well. If you are looking for a good adventure game, you've found it! (translate)

by Egger3rd on 2009-06-07 (Version 1.3)
I love this game, but the port to the iPhone is terrible! The cursor is very clunky, and the action buttons are small. The gameplay is awkward, but still simple enough. My main gripe is with the inital load; you must skip through every opening movie before loading a save! This is ridiculous. I also have the "no keyboard" bug, even though I didn't install the free version first. This means every save I have is just "save 1" or "save 2." Not great! Still, I do love this game and it's worth clunking through. But this experience has urged me to get SCUMM working on the iPhone because the interface is much better. (translate)

At long last, someone has brought a classic SCUMM based adventure game to the iphone. This is a great game and well worth the money. Hopefully this will inspire the developers and Apple to seriously consider bringing Beneath a Steel Sky to the iphone...and ever better, try to negotiate with LucasArts to release their Classic SCUMM games (Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Fate of Atlantis, etc.) as well. I know I would pay good money for a portable, full speech enabled version of these games (translate)

I loved the old lucasart Indiana Jones Atlantis game so of course this is a great and fun game. The biggest and only problem I have with the game is thy we have to move a cursor around. I hate it. If I could just click on things with my fingers I would give it five stars. (translate)
by shanyetta23 on 2009-05-12 (Version 1.1)
It's like classic Indiana Jones, but the hero has an east coast accent and his whip is actually a baseball bat! This game is not exactly for kids...if you're an adult, you'll notice MANY (funny) sexual innuendos, but they don't affect the gameplay or story. I played this game a long time ago on my PC (when I was a kid), and I've been waiting for the day when a game like this (and all of the other LucasArts adventure games) would be released on the iPhone. This is a pure, quality puzzle-based story and NOT easy for those people who are looking for a casual iPhone game. It's challenging and super fun. For those of you who already know what type of game this is, I don't need to sell you on this one. However, for those of you who are new to adventure games or are not familiar with this style of game-playing, I have to tell you that you are in for an adventure! It's a "talkie", so there is dialogue and the voice acting is pretty good. My only gripe is - iPhSoft needs to make the controls better! Instead of dragging the cursor, maybe we can simply touch and hit the screen. Otherwise, you'll have to get used to the controls and interface in order to enjoy the experience. I'm very familiar with the interface having played the old game, but for newcomers, I can see them getting VERY frustrated and they will probably be turned off by it before they actually get to play the game. So, please fix this so it's easier for people to navigate. It would be a shame for this game to not be played otherwise! (translate)
